Tale
Nate Busko has spent 12 of his 17 years running from his past
Tired of being bounced from foster home to foster home, he now lives in his car, eats corn husks, and uses track practice as an opportunity to shower.
He’s haunted only by fragments of traumatic memories from his past
By nightfall, he couldn’t be more different from the confident, dashing personality at school.
Enter Stan Deen, a popular high school drama teacher dealing with her own issues
She sees Nate’s latent talent and needs nurturing and guidance that the other teachers don’t have and wants to help him.
But in a shocking turn of events, Nate is arrested in the middle of the school and taken away in handcuffs
Stan follows Nate to the police station and not only arranges bail, but agrees to take Nate to his own home, much to the raised eyebrows of his fellow teachers.
Stan is willing to do anything to help his struggling student
But the question is: can you really help someone if you’re not willing to help yourself?
