Exploring pivotal moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turning them on their head, taking audiences into uncharted territory. Chadwick Boseman’s final Marvel project before his death. The Watcher: [Opening narration for each episode] Time. Space. Reality. It’s more than a linear path. It’s a prism of infinite possibilities, where a single choice can branch into infinite realities, creating alternate worlds to the ones you know. I am the Watcher. I am your guide through these vast new realities. Follow me and ponder the question… “What if?” After the Marvel logo appears, it transitions into an animated form in the show’s art style. Edited from Marvel Studios: Legends: Guardians of the Multiverse (2023). A very simple episode where they rush things to fit those pieces into the puzzle. And my facial expressions were also pretty straight forward watching this episode because there was no thrill or even a logical narrative, I get that maybe it’s a child-friendly show? But only those kids who are familiar with the whole MCU so far might enjoy it. Let’s see how the other episodes turn out, but I’m certainly not too keen on them after this one. Edit: Episode 2 gave a real feel of what the MCU is all about, it was creative and thoughtful with major WHAT IF moments. I really enjoyed seeing T’Challa back on screen. However, episode 3 was a problem and forced me to edit this review. It was so emotional and thrilling to watch, I could have watched a whole movie on this episode. It re-explored the characters we know on a level that leaves you wanting more. I hope to get to a 10 star edit by the end of the season. Edit II: Here’s my extra star for a “weird” 39; yet thought-provoking episode that was by far the best out of the bunch in terms of writing, voiceover, animation and storyline. Special mention to Benedict Cumberbatch for nailing the voiceover like a boss. Take a bow to Marvel for pulling this off. However, coming into episode 5, the episode was definitely entertaining, it was fun and engaging with quality animation but again it showed too much at once not giving viewers enough time to absorb things. Still a 9/10 overall for the series until the next two episodes at least. They have to beat episode 4 to get a 10 from me..
